Being an Explorer

With the support, direction and guidance of section leaders, you'll be encouraged to lead yourselves, design your own programme and work towards the top awards that Scouting offers. With exciting prospects like being a part of camps and expeditions both home and abroad; adventurous activities such as mountaineering, parascending and off shore sailing; Explorers offers fun and adventure for all. Of course you sill get the opportunity to take to the water for boating season, but this time you have the option to work towards some instructor qualifications too The Explorers meet Thursdays 7-9.15pm.

Awards

Explorers start small but think big, always challenging themselves to do more and be more. It all starts with an award Now is the chance to work for Diamond and Platinum awards along side the Young leader and explorer belts. Are you going to take it all the way and go for your Kings Scout Award? of course there is still lots of activity badges to be earnt along the way too

So what comes next? Your scouting journey doesn't have to end when you turn 18 and leave explorers. There is a world of opportunity within scouting - Network, adult leadership, district and county youth team roles. The work is your oyster and with the skills you have learnt along the way you are more than equipped as you head off into adulthood.
